Checking your Fuse Box and Isolation Switch

One of the most common issues with an air-conditioning system not working is that either the switch in the fuse box has tripped or the isolation switch near the outdoor unit has been turned off.
If either of these are switched off, try to turn them back on and see if that solves the problem.
If the switch in the fuse box keeps tripping you will have to book a technician to come and have a look.

Dead Batteries in Remotes

Most air-conditioners come with either a digital thermostat controller or a remote controller. Almost all of them are battery powered and this can cause issues with your system as the batteries start to lose charge.
Try replacing the batteries and see if this helps solve any issues you are having. If this doesn’t work, move onto the next step.

Dirty Filters

Sometimes the most simple solution is the right solution. Dirty filters in your air-conditioner can cause the system to work harder and can also cause it to stop working altogether. Try taking them out and cleaning any dust out of them and then letting them dry in the shade before putting them back in.
This can help your air-conditioner maintain efficiency and avoid premature system failures. To organize a hassle free preventative maintenance schedule with ABC Aircondtioning, click on the link at the bottom of the page to book a technician.

Faults and Flashing Lights

If you notice a code such as E5 come up on the display of your air-conditioner, then your system is letting you know that there is a fault. This fault code can greatly help our technicians when they come to fix your system so be sure to add any codes you see, along with the brand of the air-conditioner, to your email when you book. These can show up in the small black display shown in the picture or in the middle of your air-conditioner, depending on the brand. Fault codes can also sometimes be found on your remote controller or digital thermostat as well.

Download the pre-site inspection form and attach it to the technician booking email to help our technicians help you.
